X-Ray Astronomy in the Einstein ERA
Abstract
The X-ray observation of extragalactic objects is reviewed, with attention given to those objects which are particularly interesting from the point of view of the evolution of structure in the universe. Particular consideration is given to progress brought about by the Einstein mission in the understanding of clusters, quasars, and X-ray background. Future lines of research on these topics are also considered.
